KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Saturday arrested 57 suspects in different raids carried out in various parts of city and recovered weapons from them.

Rangers´ spokesman said targeted raids were conducted in Gulshan- e-Sikarnder, Sherin Jinnah Colony, Gulshan e Ghazi, Khadim Solongi Goth, Shah Faisal Colony, Liaqatabad Number 3, Mujahid Colony, Zikri Mohalla, Nishter Basti, Korangi, Golden Town and New Sabzi Mandi areas last night.

He said targeted raids were also conducted on the hideouts of terrorists involved in recent suicide attacks on Rangers. During the action two terrorists affiliated with a banned group were killed after exchange of fire. A search operation was also conducted in Al-Azam Plaza, Sohrab Goth on the information of arrested members of defunct organizations.

He said during the raids 57 criminals, including Lyari gang-war elements, criminals affiliated with political groups and members of defunct groups involved in heinous crimes were arrested.

He said Rangers also recovered 92 weapons including SMGs, G-3 rifle, hand grenades and mixed ammo.
