KARACHI: The apex bourse ended the week on a strong note as the benchmark 100-share index of the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) jumped by 0.38 percent, or 96.55 points on Friday.
The KSE-100 Index closed at 25,603.35 on the rollover day after a string of dismal sessions.
According to analysts, latest blows to peace talks between Pakistani government and Taliban, plunged market in uncertainty, which took toll on the trade.
Some institutional investment in Engro Corporation, Engro Fertilizer, and the cement sector also buoyed the capital market.
Engro Corporation Ltd rose 5.0 percent to 182.10 rupees while Maple Leaf Cement Factory Ltd was up 4.85 percent to 27.90 rupees.
