Inter-School Scrabble contest in Karachi on Sunday
KARACHI: Students from various schools are all set to take on each other in the Fifteenth Inter-School Scrabble Championship being held here on Sunday.

About 600 students from various schools of Karachi, Badin, Hyderabad and Islamabad are taking part in the event being organized under the auspices of Pakistan Scrabble Association (PSA) at a local hotel.

Thirty best players will be picked from today's championship who will participate in the series of scrabble tournaments leading to the final selection for the World Youth Scrabble Championship (WYSC).

Fifteen players will be selected in the coming months to represent Pakistan in WYSC scheduled to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka later this year.

Moizullah Baig, aged 16, from Pakistan had clinched the WYSC title after defeating Jack Durand of United Kingdom in Dubai in December 2013. Javeria Arshaed Mirza, also from Pakistan, was the runner up in the international event participated by 136 players from 18 countries.
