Punjab: CNG stations to reopen on Friday
LAHORE: All the filling stations of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in five regions of Punjab (Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Multan and Sahiwal) will open on Friday after three months gas suspension that aimed to facilitate domestic users in the winter season.

The CNG stations will supply gas for 48 hours (Friday 6:00 AM to Sunday 6:00 AM) according to new Gas Load Management Plan issued by the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited.

Gas supply to Zone II (Faisalabad, Sargodha, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Bahawalpur regions) will be restored on Tuesday for 48 hours.

According to spokesman of SNGPL, this schedule would be followed till any further decision and hoped that CNG supply would be increased to four days per week soon.

It may be mentioned that due to lower temperatures during winters the domestic sector gas consumption had risen exponentially, resulting in severe depletion of transmission pack.

Therefore, gas supply to the CNG sector had been suspended on December 10 last year. (APP)
