Nawaz, Imran should play T20 to benefit IDPs: Afridi

KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has announced to organize a benefit match in an effort to raise funds for IDPs who have fled North Waziristan after the start of the military operation.

“I think it is our collective responsibility to work for them and help them out in this crisis,” Shahid Afridi said at the launch of his charity organization ‘Shahid Afridi Foundation.’

“I am planning to organize a T20 match in Ramzan in Lahore and all the money collected from that match will go to IDPs fund,” Afridi said.

Later, while speaking to Geo News, Shahid Afridi said that he wishes to invite Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif for the proposed match.

“It is my heartiest desire to see them (Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan) play the benefit match together for a noble cause,” he said.

“Imran Khan’s credential as a cricketer is known to everyone and Nawaz Sharif has also played some cricket, so I wish to see them leading the teams,” Afridi said.
