Warsi acted with principle, integrity: Ed Miliband

LONDON: Leader of UK’s Labour Party and leader of the opposition Edward Miliband on Tuesday endorsed Minister Sayeeda Warsi’s stand over UK's policy on Gaza, saying ‘Warsi acted with principle and integrity’.

Edward Miliband tweeted:

I think Baroness Warsi has acted with principle & integrity. People around Britain have been shocked by the suffering we have seen in Gaza.

In his second tweet he defended Prime Minister David Cameron’s condemning Hamas as a terrorist organization but added that the latter should also not keep mum over Israel’s 'indefensible actions'.

It may be noted here that UK minister Sayeeda Warsi had resigned over the government’s policy on Gaza.

The UK minister of Pakistani origin wrote on her twitter feed that she had tendered her resignation.

With deep regret I have this morning written to the Prime Minister & tendered my resignation. I can no longer support Govt policy on #Gaza
