Chinese president’s visit postponed till end of September

ISLAMABAD: The prime minister’s advisor on foreign affairs, Sartaj Aziz has confirmed that the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping has been postponed till the end of September.

Aziz said an official announcement pertaining to the Chinese president’s visit being postponed would be made later on Friday. The foreign advisor further said contact was being maintained with Chinese officials and the visit would be rescheduled for later this month.

According to Aziz the visit being postponed would cause irreparable harm and efforts were being made to ensure that it was rescheduled.

President Xi Jinping’s vist has been postponed after China’s security team did not give security clearance in view of the current situation in Pakistan arising out of the ongoing sit-ins in Islamabad.
