Punjab students to appear in matric exams from today
LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has established 827 examination centres across the board’s jurisdiction for matriculation (Class 10th) annual examination 2012 starting from Saturday (today) and would conclude on March 17.

About 209,461 candidates will appear in exams for which centres have been established at Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Nankana Sahib and Sheikhupura.

Section 144 has been imposed in the vicinity of examination centres that would prohibit the candidates to carry mobile phones in the centres.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab government has delegated powers of Magistrate I-Class to BISEs Chairmen to crush the Booti mafia.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson further said BISE Lahore’s Chairman Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik had removed a junior clerk of exam branch, Riyasat Ali Dogar, from the job for issuing fake roll number slips during the Intermediate Annual Examination 2011. He warned the employees that anyone found in illegal activities would not only be removed from the services but police cases would also be registered against them.
