KARACHI: Faryal Bibi, who was allegedly kidnapped from Mirpur Mathelo and known as Rinkal Kumari before embracing Islam, has been sent to a shelter home till March 26 on the directive of Justice Shahid Anwar of Sindh High Court (SHC), Geo News reported Monday.
The girl was presented before SHC on its orders under heavy security today where hearing of petition filed by Raj Kumar, the girl's maternal uncle was held.
Noor Naz Agha, counsel of the petitioner, told the court that the girl was presently undergoing great amount of fear, thus, unable to give an independent statement. So, she be sent to a shelter home for a few days, he pleaded.
However, Junaid Farooq the counsel of girl's husband Syed Naveed Shah, insisted that the girl's statement be recorded today in the existing circumstances and be allowed to go wherever she wanted. He expressed the fear that the girl would be killed in Darul Aman and the husband would also be murdered.
After hearing the arguments of both the counsels, the SHC sent the girl to a shelter home. The IG Sindh will now present the girl before the Supreme Court on March 26.
Later, talking to the media men the petitioner said if it was proved that the girl married the guy on her own free will, he would accept this marriage.
