Protest against loadshedding at Lasbela Chowk

KARACHI: The agitated crowd protested against the prolonged hours of loadshedding at Lasbela Chowk on Friday where police resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters, Geo News reported.

According to sources, the protestors blocked the road by burning tyres and placing bricks that disrupted traffic in the areas including Lasbela, Garden, Golimaar, Liaqatabad and Nazimabad.

Protesters told that the area was devoid of electricity for the past two weeks.

Police tried to negotiate with the angry residents but did not succeed and resorted to aerial firing to disperse them.

On the other hand, Karachi Electric Supply Company Limited (KESC) told that the supply would only resume after the dues will be paid off.
