Terrorism on the rise after 9/11: CJ
KARACHI: Chief Justice (CJ) of Pakistan Justice, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary, Friday said the threats of terrorism have escalated alarmingly since post 9/11 attacks, Geo News reported.

Addressing a 3-day international conference in Karachi the CJ said that the perils of terrorism, which flared up after the attacks on World Trade Center in US have surpassed the threats of sectarian violence prevailing in the past.

He said it should not be forgotten that unrest in one part of the world affects the law and order situation in the other parts too as the threat of terrorism has no borders.

“No personality or institution is safe from this menace”, he said.

He further said that the effects of terrorism are no longer restricted to specific areas and it can be fought only through the implementation of laws.

Justice Chaudhry also said that courts have to make sure that justice is provided according to the country’s law and the role of investigative agencies is essential in this regard.
