Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood resigns from PML-F

KARACHI: Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood has tendered his resignation from the membership of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, Geo News reported Friday.

According to PML-F leader Imtiaz Sheikh, Pir Pagara took the resignation from Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood, an MPA from Rahim Yar Khan and President of Punjab chapter of PML- F. Imtiaz Sheikh said the PML-F will air its stance during a press conference scheduled for later today.

Earlier, sources said that Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) had decided to replace the incumbent Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa with a political personality as part of its pre-poll strategy.

The sources said that the decision was taken during Mehmood’s meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari here at Bilawal House which was also attended by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari besides former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and his son Ali Musa Gilani.

It is learned that that Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood is expected to be sworn in as Punjab Governor on Saturday.
