KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Tuesday said the violence in Karachi is being carried out through a plan and the anti-state elements want to de-stabilize the country.

This he said while talking to media during visit to the mausoleum of Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Rehman Malik said the country is facing different challenges and efforts are being made to cope with these challenges.

There is a need to change the mindset and efforts are being
made in this regard, Malik added.

He said that the forthcoming general elections in the country would be held on time.

Earlier, the Interior Minister visited the Mazar-e-Quaid to pay homage to the Founder of Pakistan on his 136th birth anniversary.

Rehman Malik also laid the floral wreath and offered fateha
