Karachi Chehlum procession ends

KARACHI: The central procession taken out on the occasion of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) culminated at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah after passing through its traditional route amid strict security.

The participants of the procession that originated from Nishtar Park also lodged their protest against the incidents of targeted killings in the provincial capital.

The main Majlis to pay tributes to the Matyrs of Karbala incident was held here at Nishtar Park.

Addressing the Majlis, Allama Talib Johri shed light on the unparalleled sacrifices of the Ahle Bait and condemned the targeted killings in Karachi besides criticizing the government's steps.

Tight security was seen on and around the route of the procession. The streets and alleys leading to M.A. Jinnah Road were sealed with the help of containers and buses.

The aerial surveillance of the procession was also conducted while the city's administration carried out its security monitoring from command and control room.
