Elections will be held on time: SC

ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Tuesday said that the elections will be held on time, Geo News reported.

The remark came from the CJ when a three-judge bench headed by him was in the middle of hearing a case pertaining to introduction of reforms in the electoral process.

During the proceedings, the CJ remarked that it is not important that who is doing what but the elections will be held on time, no matter what.

He said that no compromise will be made regarding the timeline of the elections and the Election Commission of Pakistan should remain prepared for it.

The Chief Justice also enquired from the government that what it has done so far to implement the court's order. He said that the Election Commission should be prepared to follow the guidelines provided by the government to hold polls.
