ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has approved recommendation of Electoral Reforms Bill, enabling the commission to exercise administrative powers, Geo News reported.
Under the recommendation, ECP would be allowed to use administrative authority as practiced in neighboring India. After the approval of the bill, the commission will acquire powers to change or suspend all the government officials including Inspector General of Police and Chief Secretary.
All the government machinery would work under ECP after the election schedule is announced, the recommendation stated.
