Efroze Pharma director sent on two days physical remand
LAHORE: The accused in Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) spurious life saving medicines unleashing scores of deaths of heart patients’ case were presented in the local courts on Wednesday here, Geo News reported.

The court handed over the director of Efroze Pharma, Nadir Feroze to the police on two days physical remand, while the Manager, Shakil Nagar was sent to jail. Doctors, pharmacists and stores owners involved in this case were also presented in the session court.

The Isotab drug that had caused deaths of over 200 patients in PIC was manufactured by Efroze Pharma, which was declared sub-standard by a London laboratory, as it contained anti-malaria drug pyrimethamine out of proportion. A case in this regard was registered in Shadman Colony police station.
