Sindh CM calls in additional police to Karachi
KARACHI: As violence claimed 12 more lives in Karachi just a day before the start of February - the month which the country’s interior minister warned might witness a deadly wave of violence - Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has ordered to call in extra contingents of police from others parts of the province to maintain law and order, Geo News reported.

Shah Presided over a special meeting on law and order which was attended by Information Minister Sharjeel Memon, Sindh IG, Zonal DIGs and officials from intelligence agencies.

During the meeting, the chief minister directed that extra policemen be called in from all the districts of Sindh to deploy in violence-stricken areas of the metropolis.

The CM instructed authorities to launch join action against terrorists in the city. He directed the law enforcers to launch as extensive drive as they considered necessary to bring peace in the city.

An MQM delegation headed by Raza Haroobn would meet the chief minister to discuss worsening law and order situation in Karachi.

Speaking to media after the meeting, Sharjeel Memon said that the additional police would be deployed to sensitive areas of Karachi to take action against terrorists.
Memon said that the killings in the metropolis were part of a conspiracy.
