All set to stage Islamabad sit-in: Nawaz Sharif
JEDDAH: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President, Nawaz Sharif Sunday said his party is all set to stage a sit-down in front of the Parliament House building on Monday in Paksitan's capital city of Islamabad for what he said the fortification of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Speaking to media persons after performing an Umrah here, Nawaz Sharif said the government should come and go through the power of ballot.

Nawaz Sharif said a climate for upcoming polls is building up and hoped that the next general elections will be held on time.

He said the government was trying to distract public attention from the elections by using the 'gimmick' of new provinces and accused the executive of deceiving the people.

On the issue of Kargil, Nawaz Sharif said only four people had knowledge of this: General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf, General (Retd) Abdul Aziz, Corps Commander (Retd) General Mehmood and General (Retd) Javed Hassan.

"In order to restore peace in the region it is essential that (better) relations between Pakistan and India be promoted and a peaceful solution to the issue of Kashmir be worked out," the PML-N leader stressed.

He said upon coming to power, he would take up/resolve on priority basis issues such as, loadshedding, PIA, bullet train project and, law and order situation in Karachi and Balochistan besides taking practical steps against drone strikes.
