Fakhruddin dismisses allegations against ECP members

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakhruddin G Ibrahim dismissing allegations against members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said that their appointments were made in accordance with the constitution.

According to the statement issued from the ECP, Fakhruddin G Ibrahim said that it is very unfortunate to face criticism six weeks before the completion of current government’s tenure.

The CEC expressing confidence in the eligibility and integrity of all the members of the commission said that no member of the commission had any political affiliation.

Advising political parties to cooperate with the commission, Fakhruddin said that defaming the commission to serve political interests is not fair.
