Lawyers stage sit-in outside CM House to protest target killing

KARACHI: Lawyers on Monday staged a sit-in outside the Chief Minister House against the targeted killing of their colleagues in the metropolis.

The Lawyers belonging to the Sindh Bar Association (SBA) also held a condolence reference for Supreme Court lawyer M. M Tariq who was shot dead a couple of days ago.

SBA President Mustafa Lakhani called on the government to announce Rs5 million compensation for the family of the slain lawyer and issue arms licenses for the lawyers fraternity.

Lakhani, asserted that the government had failed to protect the citizens’ lives and properties.

He also announced a march from Sindh High Court to Jinnah’s Mausoleum on 27 February.

During the sit-in, the roads leading to the CM House were blocked, causing gridlock in the adjacent areas.
