KARACHI: The Sindh Law Ministry has directed Public Prosecutor South to withdraw 34 cases lodged during the Lyari operation.
According to officials of the provincial law ministry, cases lodged under the complaint of the government should be withdrawn under section 494.
Cases were lodged for murder, illegal weapons possession and other serious crimes. The accused included Uzair Baloch, Habib Jan, Zafar Baloch, Noor Muhammad alias Baba Ladla and others.
Sources add that cases excluding those with murder charges will be withdrawn.
Meanwhile MQM Sindh Assembly parliamentarians staged a walkout during the in-camera session in protest to the withdrawal of these cases.
