President's power relating to approval of amended nomination form to be challenged
LAHORE: The government hiatus over getting the president’s approval of the amended nomination form will be challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday here, Geo News reported.

A Lahore citizen Tariq Ahmad has named the Federation and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as respondents in his petition, reports Daily Jang reporter, Ahmad Noorani.

The petitioner has made a plea that the powers of the president for the approval of amendments in nomination form was against the independence of ECP, as enshrined in the constitution.

The petitioner has further prayed that the relevant section of this law being in contravention of the constitution be declared void.
