Assembly membership has become a profession to make money: Dr. Mubashir

LAHORE: Veteran politician, Dr. Mubashir Hassan Sunday said that he filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking court order to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to conduct a thorough scrutiny of nomination papers of the candidates in upcoming general elections-2013 so that only good persons could come to fore for the contest.

Talking to Geo News representative Huda Ikram here, Dr Mubashir Hassan said that his petition in the Supreme Court aims at empowering the ECP.

He further said that to be assembly member these days has become a profession for making money. He said such measures should be taken that ensure not only transparent elections, but the people in general also perceive and say it so.
