Punjab caretaker CM, matter remains undecided

LAHORE: The Parliamentary committee set up for selecting caretaker Chief Minister Punjab held its very first meeting here on Sunday, which during its proceeding set the rules of business for executing the assigned task.

The committee comprising an equal number of representatives from the provincial government and opposition concluded without holding any consultation on the nomination of the caretaker CM Punjab. Only rules and legal parameters were set for fulfilling the task the committee has been entrusted with.

It may be mentioned here that on March 20 the Punjab Governor Ahmed Mahmood had dissolved the Punjab Assembly and the provincial cabinet on the advice of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Meanwhile, all the three provinces have already nominated their caretaker CMs while the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday (today) nominated Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso as the country’s interim Prime Minister.
