ISLAMABAD: Notices have been issued to 20 MPs who had resigned from the assemblies over dual nationality, Geo News reported.

A three-judge Supreme Court (SC) bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing dual nationality case here on Thursday.

During the hearing, the judges remarked why not all these members be declared ineligible for coming elections.

On the occasion, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry remarked that the court had earlier ordered to return the benefits and salaries in Shehnaz Sheikh dual nationality case.

The court also sought details of nomination papers of all these MPs.

ECP sources said reasons behind resignations had also been sent to returning office.

Those who were de-notified included Nadeem Ahsan, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Fozia Ejaz, Sabin Rizvi, Dr. Aresh Kumar, Arif Aziz Shaikh, Jamil Malik, Fozia Afzal, Tahir Ali Javed, Jamil Ashraf, Javed Iqbal, Murad Ali Shah, Sadiq Ali Memon, Abdul Hameed Siddiqui, Muhammad Ali Shah (Late), Askari Taqvi and Muhammad Raza Haroon.
