Returning officer issued notice for April 12 on Musharraf’s appeal

LAHORE: The election tribunal of Lahore High Court has issued notice to the returning officer to appear in April 12 hearing after former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf submitted an appeal against his rejection from NA-139, Geo News reported Thursday.

The former dictator had challenged the rejection of his nomination papers from Kasur, NA-139 constituency before the election tribunal in Lahore High Court. Pervez Musharraf is of the view that he fulfils the requirements of Article 62 and 63. Moreover, his nomination papers were also accepted from Chitral, NA 32.

Responding over his appeal, the election tribunal has issued notice to the returning officer to appear before the tribunal in April 12 hearing.
