Shahbaz calls for removal of officials loyal to PPP in centre

LAHORE: Former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Shahrif has called on the caretaker government in center to transfer administrative officials in centre to ensure free and fair election.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader said that by not transferring the officials the caretaker government was creating doubts over the credibility of the election.

Shahbaz Sharif said Pakistan People’s Party’s favorite officers were posted in key departments like the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR).

He said if the Election Commission could write to prime minister to express displeasure over a statement of a federal minister, why could it not follow the practice in removing the government functionaries loyal to the PPP.
