ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan will take up a suo moto case pertaining to unprecedented security to former rulers including former prime ministers Raja Pervez Ashraf, Yousuf Raza Gilani and others here on Tuesday.
Attorney General Pakistan, Advocate General and IG Sindh Police would submit their replies in response to notices issued by the apex court.
Taking notice of media reports about approval of unprecedented security for Raja Pervez Ashraf and Yousuf Raza Ginali on the last day of the government, the Supreme Court registrar had sent a note to the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
Lifetime perks and privileges and unprecedented protocol were approved for former interior minister Rehman Malik, former Sindh chief minister Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh Assembly Speaker, deputy speaker and others.
A five-judge bench of the apex court headed by the CJ would hear the case.
