KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) seem to have failed in thwarting targeted bombings also like their utter failure in controlling targeted killings in the city here, Geo News reported.
Sources said that LEAs have remained totally clueless and undone, while the wave of targeted bombings of the election offices, corner meetings, processions and rallies of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) continued unabated. It seems that the terrorists have been given a free hand to target anywhere and anytime they wished, while the MQM, ANP & PPP electioneers are being forced to remain confined severing all access to the masses, sources said.
Nowhere in the city the police, Rangers and intelligence agencies are seen taking effective result-oriented measures to check the free movement of the terrorists in their explosive laden vehicles targeting the election offices, processions and rallies. It seems that the police have already accepted its defeat against the more well trained and equipped terrorists, as the DIG West Zafar Abbas Bukhari has now made it clear that the army has to be called in for the holding of peaceful elections in the city.
