Man commits suicide after killing wife, daughters

ISLAMABAD: A man allegedly committed suicide after killing his wife and two daughters, Geo News reported Wednesday.

Afzaal Raza, a resident of Sector I-10/2 killed his wife Nomi Afzaal, 35 and both daughters Yasra Afzaal,15 and Lashma Afzaal,17 for reasons yet unknown. His son Ahmed Afzaal, however, is reported to be safe.

Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Bin Yamin told Geo News Afzaal shot his spouse and daughters in the head that too from a point blank range, which caused their death.

He added that only further investigation would pull the curtain on the motive behind the murder.

Police said the data on Afzaal's mobile phone, which was in their custody, was being thoroughly sifted for clues as one of his text messages sent to friend said it was his last SMS.

According to police Afzaal owned a computer business in Rawalpindi.

The deceased murderer shot his family dead before committing suicide with the same handgun, the police said.
