Non-payment of salaries: Municipal workers dump garbage outside SA

KARACHI: Protesting employees of the Karachi Municipal Corporation dumped heaps of garbage outside the Sindh Assembly and Sindh Secretariat against non-payment of salaries.

They managed to dump the large heaps of garbage in the Red Zone area late in the night, causing difficulties for the citizens.

Despite assurances from the authorities, thousands of employees from 15 towns of the metropolis have yet to receive their salaries.

The protesters said that the Sindh High Court in its May 17 2013 order had directed the government to ensure payments of outstanding amounts but to no avail.
