Punjab cabinet to take oath today

LAHORE: The Punjab cabinet would take oath here on Saturday as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership has finalized names and portfolios for the ministers.

Well placed sources in the PML-N said that a high level meeting attended by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharifm Senator Ishaq Dar and other senior leaders took place in Raiwind.

The sources said that the meeting discussed names and portfolios for the new cabinet line-up.

They said that the meeting considered Rana Sanaulla for law and local government ministries. However, name of Rana Mashood also came under discussion for law ministry.

They disclosed that the PML-N leadership considered names of Zaeem Qadri for ministry of education, Mujtaba Shuja for ministry of finance, Iqbal Channar for ministry of prisons, Khuwaja Salman Rafique for advisor on health affairs, Malik Nadeem Kamran for food and agriculture and Raja Ashfaq for ministry of planning and development.
