ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday ordered Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to present the list of big drug smugglers within a week, Geo News reported.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftekhar Muhammad Chaudhary heard the case regarding drug smuggling here.
Chief Justice Iftekhar ordered to launch action against the drug smugglers bringing bad name to the country.
Iftekhar Muhammad Chaudhary further said that it was necessary to eliminate the crime against the society, adding that the ANF report was unsatisfactory and the agency didn’t prove itself despite the financial cooperation of the government and international institutions.
The CJ said that the kids and women were sent to jails instead of sending the smugglers behind the bars and SC was unable to understand as to why the real culprits were not arrested.
The SC observed that prima-facie the ANF report was not based on facts. The hearing was adjourned till June 19.
