LAHORE: Responding to PPP criticism of the government, federal information minister Senator Pervez Rasheed has said that the Council of Common Interests was formed on June 27 and a notification was also issued on the same day.
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sahrif was head of the CCI while chief ministers of four federating units and two federal ministers Sadruddin Rashidi, Abdul Qadir Baloch and Sardar Yousuf were its members.
He said that President Asif Ali Zardrai visited China 20 times and never took any chief minister along while PPP’s prime minister had also not included any chief minister in his entourage during his visit to China. “I wonder, how the federation is in danger now, when it was not, back then”
The minister said that all the measures and policies of prime minister were in the interest of all the provinces.
It is to mention here that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik also accompanied Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during his recent visit to China.
