Justice Baqar attack: accused presented before media

KARACHI: The accused of attack on Sindh High Court (SHC) senior judge, Justice Maqbool Baqar were presented before media, Geo News reported.

Police presented accused Maviya Laghari, son of alleged mastermind Bashir Laghari and Abu Bakar before the media. The accused confessed to their crime and said they were also involved in the killing of a lawyer at Mauripur road.

Accused Maviya and Abu Bakar recorded their statement about their planning of the attack and the names of other accomplices.

They said the bike, used in the blast, was snatched from Khuda Ki Basti, adding that Bashir Laghari had chalked out plan of the attack at his house.

Accused Abu Bakar said he himself pressed the button of remote of the bomb.

They said the explosive material was planted in the lights, tank and silencer of the bike.

On the occasion, DIG South Amir Shaikh said Bashir Laghari was the mastermind of the attack on Justice Maqbool Baqar.

The DIG the same gang had prepared a plan, at the house of Bashir Laghari, to attack MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi.
