Independence Day celebrated with traditional fervor in Burewala
BUREWALA: The 67nd Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor and solidarity here on Wednesday.

The main national flag hoisting ceremony was held at Jinnah Hall Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) offices where PML (N) MNA Ch Nazir Ahmad Arain along with MPA Muhammad Yousaf Kaseliya, Assistant Commissioner Saifullah Sajid, DSP, Burewala Sajjad Muhammad Khan Tikka, Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Ch MB Mazhar hoisted national flag.

A smartly tuned out contingent of police presented guard of honour while school children sang national anthem on the occasion.

PML-N city president Ghulam Rasool Zaidi, Markazi Anjuman Tajraan, Burewala President Muhammad Jamil Bhatti, PML (N) leaders Muhammad Aslam Malik, Naeem Sabir Choudhary, Syed Amir Shah, Hafiz Rizwan Abid, Muhammad Fayaz Qasim, Muhammad Shahid, Rana Shahid Sarwar, Sardar Khalid Mahmood Dogar, Sajid Sharif Arain, Punjab College Principal Abdul Majid Akbar while Heads of different government and private educational institutions and students were attended the ceremony.

The different government and private schools and social organizations arranged colorful ceremonies where children presented national songs, tableaus and speech to mark the day. Later Assistant Commissioner Saifullah Sajid along with Medical Superintendent THQ Burewala Rana Muhammad Akram and other officials distributed sweets and fruits among the patients of Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Burewala.

Furthermore, the city's various schools and colleges organized various functions to mark Independence Day. The bazaars and streets were decorated with colorful buntings and all main government and private building were illuminated in connection with the day.
