Heavy rains forecast in central, southern parts of country
ISLAMABAD: Met department Friday forecast torrential monsoon rains during the next twenty- four hours in the central and southern parts of the country, Geo News reported.

The department said that the Gujranwala, Lahore division and most places in Kashmir were likely to receive heavy rains raising fears of nullahs and rivers flooding that may submerge the low- lying areas.

Kashmir, North-East Punjab, Southern Punjab, most places in Upper Sindh, while Eastern Balochistan, at some places in Lower Sindh and few places of Gigit Baltistan likely to receive more rains with thunder and lighting during the next 24 hours, the Met department said.

During the past 24 hours, Nagarparkar recorded maximum 177 mm rainfall, while Turbat recorded maximum temperature at 43 degree Centigrade.
