PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) leader, Asfandyar Wali, Saturday said his party welcomed peace talks with Taliban, Geo News reported.
“We want this bloodshed to end and ANP will undoubtedly put its weight behind any initiative that bears peace in the end”, said he talking to a press conference held here to unveil plans of a complete reorganization of the party.
Announcing fresh party elections, he said that all the core committees of the ANP had been dissolved.
“All the district, provincial, and central bodies of the party stand dissolved as of now”, Wali said.
He said the ANP would be reconstituted from top to bottom, beginning from the main committees and going right down to the district level bodies of the party after mutual consultations.
“In this regard a 5-member committee, headed by Senator Haji Adeel, has been formed”, he said.
