Karachi: Dacoit killed in alleged police encounter

KARACHI: An alleged police encounter took place in Gulistan e Jauhar area of the metropolis in which one dacoit was killed while another person sustained injuries on early Saturday.

According to the police, the alleged dacoits tried to break into the house near Johar Maur, however, police after receiving information rushed to the site and took on the dacoits. It said that a dacoit was killed in an exchange of fire while other dacoits managed to escape.

The police said that a passerby was also injured in firing by dacoits. The injured person has been taken to the hospital.

Police have kicked off investigation.
