LAHORE: The law enforcing and intelligence agencies in a joint action apprehended an alleged activist of al-Qaeda here on Monday night, Geo News reported.
Sources said the lawmen laid hands on the accused, who was a student in Science College Lahore, after he was found involved in suspicious activities hinting at his links with al-Qaeda.
Geo News also learnt that the arrestee’s father was an employee of Punjab University.
This is the second such arrest in under a week as an allegedly al-Qaeda-affiliated man of Arab descent was picked up by agencies after a raid on one of Punjab University hostels on September 11, 2013.
According to media reports the held man led to the arrest of at least eight other accused.
Pictures of Aafia Siddiqui and other al-Qaeda leaders were also found hanging on the walls of the hostel room he was staying in.
