Imran Khan re-chants the 'peace-through-talks' mantra
LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan has reiterated that dialogue was the only way that could lead the country to a lasting peace, Geo News reported.

“Pakistan’s survival lies in peace and not in war” Khan talking to newsmen here in Lahore.

He asserted that if the negotiators guided the peace talks in the 'right direction' the tribesmen (Taliban) would come round.

"The whole nation wants a lasting peace more than anything else. And it's been nine years since PTI has been demanding restoration of peace, but our calls were never taken seriously. In all of the four All Parties Conference, we raised voice for an end to this bloodshed", said Khan.

PTI chief said that in the recent APC all the stakeholders saw eye to with that peace negotiations could be done with the mediation of tribal elders.

"It should not be forgotten that the tribals had agreed to come to the table for a dialogue in 2004. If negotiations were not a workable option than why did US invited Taliban to it. It even allowed them to open an office in Qatar", said he.
