Altaf condemns Hakimullah's being called a 'martyr'
LONDON: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief, Altaf Hussain in a statement issued here on Monday said calling former Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief a 'martyr' was absolutely deplorable.

Altaf Hussain in a statement issued here criticized Jamaat-e-Islami chief Munawar Hasan, who called TTP cheif Hakimullah Mehsud a martyr.

The MQM chief said every child in Pakistan knows that the Taliban were responsible for killing 7,000 security officials and over 40,000 innocent Pakistanis including religious scholars.

He added that Taliban had targeted mosques, imambargahs and other places of worship.

Altaf questioned that if the killer of innocent people was declared a martyr then what would his victims be declared?

"Can someone, who has on his hands the blood of thousands of Allah-fearing and Kalima-uttering Muslims, be called a martyr?", Altaf asked.
