Govt expresses inability to print ballot papers in time

ISLAMABAD: The government has excused over printing of ballot papers within the time frame provided by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for local bodies election.

According to ECP sources, the commission had directed the government to print 400 million ballot papers on which the cabinet secretary expressed inability to print them in time.

The ECP has directed the cabinet secretary to submit written reply in this regard, the sources said.

According to the announced schedule, the local bodies election is due to be held on November 27 in Sindh while on December 7 in Punjab.
