MQM to back drone protest if PTI, JI raise voice against TTP: Altaf
KARACHI/LONDON: As KP ruling alliance continues to stop Nato supplies to and from war-torn Afghanistan that stirred a heated debate in the country over repercussion of such a move, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain stressed the need for practical steps instead of mere protest to get the drone attacks stopped in Pakistan’s tribal region near Afghan border.

He advised Imran Khan led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the Jaamt-e-Islami to stage sit-ins outside the PM House, the Presidency ,the GHQ and other places until the Pakistan Air Force decides to shoot down the unmanned aircraft.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said that he would ask the Rabita Committee of the MQM to join the PTI and the JI in their protest against the drones. He, however, urged both the parties to also raise their voice against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other banned outfits operating in the country.

“PTI and Jamaat should stage sit-ins outside embassies of US, UK and other Nato countries and demand the drones be shoot down as they enter Pakistan’s airspace,” Mr Hussain.
