According to sources, Justice Tassaduq Hussain relinquished his charge of Acting CEC after approving to assume the role of new Chief Justice of Pakistan on December 12.
Sources further told that a summary to appoint new chief election commissioner has been sent to the Supreme Court.
A senior SC judge will be designated as acting CEC for which Justice Nasirul Mulk is a probable candidate.
