ISLAMABAD: The top management of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has closed the gas supply to CNG, industrial sector, captive power plants (CPPs) and independent power plants (IPPs) for an indefinite period in the Punjab.
Sources in SNGPL say the decision has been taken on account of the gas shortage that has swelled to one billion cubic feet per day.
According to Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, the ECC has refused to approve the gas load management plan, saying it is an administrative issue and not a policy issue and the prime minister’s approval is sufficient.
