NEPRA rejects electricity rate increase for November
ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has rejected the petition seeking fuel charges adjustment for the month of November, Geo News reported on Tuesday.

Acting Chairman Nepra said details given in the petition should be presented afresh and added that summaries prepared by clerks should not be submitted.

It may be recalled that the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had sought through a petition 45 paisa per unit increase in the fuel charge adjustment for the month of November, which NEPRA rejected.

Acting Chairman NEPRA, Khawaja Mohammad Naim has ordered for the recovery from power generation companies the payments made to them on account of gas infrastructure development.

NEPRA calling for details from the CPPA said that despite the stay order, payments were made and billions of rupees were not deposited in the national exchequer.
