Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is set to be released from jail on February 27 after the Maharashtra government remitted his sentence in a case linked to the deadly 1993 Mumbai bombings.
The Bollywood star was convicted of illegal possesion of weapons and sentenced by the Indian Supreme Court in March 2013 to a five-year term for buying weapons from gangsters accused of orchestrating the bombings.
Of the five-year sentence, the actor had already served 18 months as an under-trial and was required to undergo another 42 months which are now on the verge of completion.
