QUETTA: The intensity of the cold wave is likely to persist till Wednesday, Geo News reported.
According to the Met Office, the cold wave will continue till Wednesday throughout the country and is not likely to reduce.
On Monday, Kalat braved -15 degrees while the temperature in Quetta has also dropped below the freezing point and was -13 degrees.
Extreme weather is prevalent in Northern Balochistan along with other northern areas. People are facing extreme difficulties as running water is no more available for the citizens and has transformed into ice.
Mercury has also dropped in other upper areas including Gilgit, Skardu, Astore, Diamar and Hunza Nagar. Snowfall and cold breeze is creating hazards for the locals as it is difficult to carry out day to day chores due to the severe weather.
Mainly very cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, however, mostly cloudy conditions with light rain is expected at scattered places of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha divisions and adjoining areas.
